About Kapalua
Kapalau is a stunning small town located just north of Lahaina and Kaanapali in the northwestern corner of beautiful Maui. It It sits between the mountain slopes and the Pacific ocean offering gorgeous 360 degree views.

Great places to eat include the Plantation House known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees while enjoying views that overlook the golf course and ocean. This is a great place to enjoy one of the famous Maui sunsets while dining. Merriman’s, Duke’s, Hula Grill and the Gazebo are a short drive away and also offer unique, delicious entrees along with stunning views.
The nearby beaches and bays offer the best snorkeling and diving on the island. Honolua Bay, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay and Kaanapali beach are just a few minutes away. For hikers, there is the Kapalua Coastal Trail that provides incredible views while walking along the rocky bluffs that tower over the Pacific.
Kapalua Weather
The weather in Kapalua is as near to perfect as anywhere else in the world. Mild temperatures throughout the year make this area a favorite family vacation destination. High temperatures range from the 70s to 80s, lows from the 60s to 70s. Rarely does it ever get above 90 or below 60.
The nearby mountains shield Kapalua from the heavier rains from the rainforest that is just a few miles on the other side of the mountain. Afternoon light showers are common during summer and falls months and are just enough to keep the area lush and green, providing a nice afternoon cool down.
Most rain falls between the months of December and April when strong storms pass from west to east. This area can be influenced by tropical storms and hurricanes between June and October, but direct hits are rare due to the protection that the Big Island of Hawaii provides.
This side of the island also has the best sunsets. Kapalua is the perfect place to view one as it is slightly elevated and the view looks out for over ocean and the surrounding islands.
