About Playa Jaco
Playa Jaco is a popular beach town on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast known for its vibrant nightlife and world class surf. It offers a nice mix of adventure and relaxation.
There are many accommodations available, ranging from budget hostels to luxury resorts. Additionally, smaller boutique hotels and vacation rentals provide lodging opportunities that are close to the beach.
The town is filled with restaurants, bars, and shops and even a casino.
Beyond the beach, many activities are available. Jaco is a top destination for surfing, with waves suitable for all levels. In addition, ATV tours and zip-lining adventures take visitors through lush rainforests. Manuel Antonio National Park, located nearby, is perfect for wildlife lovers. There, monkeys, sloths, and exotic birds can be spotted.
Playa Jaco Weather
The weather in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica is divided into two season, green (rainy season) and summer (dry season).
The majority of the rain falls between May and November. Nearly everyday during this time will see some rain, usually in the afternoons between May and July. However, once August rolls around, all day rains are common until the middle of November.
October is by far the rainiest month for any community on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, including Playa Jaco.
December through April has the driest weather with very little rain. This is the most popular time of the year for tourist to visit.
Temperatures in Jaco are always warm and generally humid. There is some relief from the humidity from December through February. The most uncomfortable month in terms of temperature plus humidity is April. The temperatures are high and the heavy rains have not started and therefore provide no cooling relief from the heat.
