About the Royal Sands
The Royal Sands is located in Cancun’s famous and beautiful Hotel Zone. The resort offers stunning ocean views and has a white sand beah and clear blue water just steps away. Guests can relax in a peaceful setting while staying close to great attractions.
Each suite includes a kitchen, dining area, and private balcony. Many rooms offer stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.
The Royal Sand is close to Cancun’s top shopping centers, La Isla and Kukulcán Plaza. Luxury brands, local crafts, and unique souvenirs are widely available.
For dining, excellent restaurants are close by. Hacienda Sisal, located near the resort, serves delicious Mexican cuisine. Another great choice is La Veranda, offering fresh seafood and international dishes. Guests can also enjoy beachfront dining with beautiful sunset views.
Besides dining, there are plenty of things to do. Water activities include snorkeling, jet skiing, and paddleboarding. A short drive leads to famous Mayan ruins, such as Tulum and Chichen Itza. For a fun day trip, Isla Mujeres offers charming shops and quiet beaches.
Cancun Weather
The weather in Cancun ranges from pleasant in the winter to very hot and humid in the summer. The least amount of rain occurs between December and May. The intense heat and humidity starts in June and continues through the summer well into September.
Hurricane season starts in June and runs through October with a slight chance of a storm in November. October has the most rain and December and January has the most wind.
Temperatures range from the upper 70s in the winter to the high 80s, and occasionally the low 90s, in the summer. I have found that the best time to visit is in February and March. This time of the year has the least amount of rain, wind and humidity and is warm but not overly hot. In addition, kids are still in school and the spring break crowd has not arrived yet.
If your plans include exploring the Mayan ruins, located in the center of the Yucatan Peninsula and east from Cancun, it is strongly recommended to avoid the hot and humid months because the temperatures and humidity increase significantly as compared to the beach communities.
