About the Sheraton Maui
The Sheraton Maui is located on Kaanapali Beach adjacent to Black Rock. This area is one of the best diving and snorkeling spots in Maui. In addition, normally calm waters and small waves make this a very family friendly beach.
The Sheraton is an open and spacious resort with a large pool, lazy river and hot tub with a outdoor bar and restaurant in the middle by the pool. The resort’s lush gardens and cascading waterfalls create an instant feeling of relaxation.
Each of the Sheraton Maui’s guest rooms and suites offers a blend of modern comforts and traditional Hawaiian decor.
You have the choice of rooms with ocean, garden or mountain views from your private lanai.
The Sheraton is close to several great restaurants in the area such as Dukes, Hula Grill, Maui Brewing, Merriman’s and Sansei Sushi
The small beach section right next to Black Rock is usually calm and ideal for families. However, as with anywhere on Maui, occasionally larger swells and breakers will make an appearance and can create unsafe swimming conditions with strong currents.
Kaanapali Weather
Kaanapali enjoys some of the best weather in Maui. Located on the western side of the island, Kaanapali is protected from both the wind and rain. This area is considered the desert side of the island of Maui. While still beautiful, it receives much less rainfall than the northern shores.
The most rain occurs between December and April as strong Pacific storms move from west to east. Summertime often brings light afternoon showers that are just enough to cool things off. Temperatures are mild and range from the 60s to high 80s, rarely going above 90 degrees.
This side of the island can also be windy, but since the trade winds blow from land to sea in this area, the beaches are often protected from wind waves.
The ocean water temperature ranges from the low 70s in the winter to the low 80s in the summer.
Nearby summer and fall hurricanes and tropical storms often influence the weather, but generally, this area of Maui is protected by the Big Island of Hawaii.
