About the Napili Kai

The Napili Kai Beach Resort is located right on the beach at the northern end of Napili Bay.  This is one of the most sought after vacation destinations in Hawaii.  Napili Bay is known for its calm, clear waters that are family friendly and has some of the best snorkeling and paddle boarding opportunities on Maui.

The Napili Kai offers garden view, ocean view and ocean front rooms that are set in a lush tropical setting, some with fantastic sunset views.

Amenities include free parking, free WiFi, kid’s eat free program, shuffleboard courts, 18 hole putting green, four swimming pools, two hot tubs and several outdoor barbeques.  As a bonus there are weekly Mai Tai and golf putting get togethers.

There are several great restaurants nearby such as Sansei Sushi, The Plantation House, Merriman’s, Duke’s, Hula Grill plus the Sea House restaurant is right next door.  For breakfast, a visit to the Gazebo is a must but you must get in line before they open.

The Napili Kai is also close to some fun things to do.  Hike the Kaanapali Coastal Trail and walk high above the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  Play a round of golf in Kapalua or surf/snorkel at Honolua Bay just a short drive to the north.

Napili Weather

Napili experiences some of the best weather in Maui.  This area is located on the drier, western side of the island and does not get nearly as much rain as the northern regions of the island.  However, there is just enough to keep everything beautiful.

Temperatures range from the mid 60s to the upper 80s throughout the year.  Temperatures rarely get above 90 or below 60.

The most rain occurs between December and April and the area is susceptible to influence from tropical storms and hurricanes from June through October.  However due to the Big Island of Hawaii’s size and proximity to the west, it deflects or reduces the impact of most of the larger storms.

In this area of Maui, the winds blow from land to sea on most days.  This minimizes wind waves and when combined with the protective offshore reef, Napili Bay is usually very calm with little or no waves or strong currents.  However, water conditions can vary and there are times when the ocean can become unsafe, even in normally calm areas.  It is important to always check the local conditions before heading out.
