About the Maui Sands
The Maui Sands Condos are located in Kaanapali on the gorgeous west shore of the Valley Isle just north of Lahaina and south of Kapalua.
This stretch of sand has some of the most beautiful calm water beaches in the world and is a favorite family vacation destination.
The Maui Sands has one and two bedrooms suites available for rent. Each has a private lanai with your choice of a garden or ocean view. This is a low rise condo building with direct access to the ocean.
This area is famous for high end resorts, great shopping and delicious ocean front restaurants. The Hula Grill, Dukes and Merriman’s all offer great dining while taking in stunning ocean views. Other popular places to eat are the Maui Brewing Company, Sansei Sushi and Miso Phat Sushi, all just a short drive or walk away. For shopping, Whaler’s Village is a favorite among visitors and locals.
For those outdoor enthusiasts, some of the best snorkeling on Maui can be found nearby. Kaanapali beach, Black Rock, Napili Bay and Honolua Bay all have shallow reefs and normally calm, clear water teeming with sea life including turtles. For those that love hiking, the nearby Kaanapali Coastal Trail provides an easily accessible and walkable trail that winds in and out of rocky points, providing beautiful views of the rugged coastline.
Kaanapali Weather
This area of Maui has some of the best weather in the world. Mild temperatures that range from the 70s and 80s during the day make this the perfect weather paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.
While it may rain some on the majority of afternoons, showers are often light and provide a nice cooling break from the sun. Nearby mountains and hills block the heavier rain that occurs in the rainforest just a few miles away.
Trade winds also blow from land to sea normally resulting in calm waters close to shore. Surrounding islands usually block out large swells making this the perfect spot to play in the ocean.
During the summer and falls months of June through October, hurricanes and tropical storms can influence the weather but significant impacts are limited due to the blocking action of the nearby Big Island of Hawaii.
Water conditions can vary and there are times when the ocean can become unsafe, even in normally calm areas. It is important to always check the local conditions before heading out.
