About the Kahana Beach Resort

The Kahana Beach Resort offers spacious studios and one-bedroom suites. Each unit includes a private lanai with gorgeous ocean views.  The studios has a partial kitchen and the one bedroom suites have a full kitchen.  Other amenities include a pool, hot tub, barbeques and coin operated washer and dryer.

The resort has an onsite restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating.  In addition, there are several amazing restaurants close by such as the Plantation, Sansei Sushi, Hula Grill, Duke’s, Merriman’s and many more.

This side of the island is know for calmer waters which are perfect for snorkeling and paddleboarding.  Some of the favorite spots for this are at Black Rock, Napili Bay and Honolua Bay.

Kaanapali Weather

Kaanapali and Kahana are right next to each other and are located on the drier, western side of the island.  This area sees more sun than other areas on Maui because the nearby mountains and hills squeeze out the moisture and blocks most of the clouds.

Strong trade winds typically blow from land to sea.  As a result, the waters are generally protected and calm.

Temperatures are mild.  In the winter the highs range from the 70s to low 80s.  Summer sees the mid and upper 80s.  Rarely does it ever get above 90 degrees or below 60.

In the summer and fall months, the weather can be affected by nearby tropical storms and hurricanes.  Rarely is there a direct storm hit due to the proximity of the Big Island of Hawaii that provides protection.  The last direct hit in Hawaii was hurricane Iniki that came ashore in Kauai in September of 1992.

Water conditions can vary and there are times when the ocean can become unsafe, even in normally calm areas.  It is important to always check the local conditions before heading out.  Also keep in mind, that ocean conditions can change quickly and what is calm one minute, can become dangerous the next.
