About Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful destinations. Located in central Costa Rica and on the Pacific coast, it offers lush rainforests, white-sand beaches, and diverse wildlife. Visitors can enjoy stunning scenery while exploring its hiking trails and coastline.

For nature lovers, the park is a dream come true. Monkeys swing through the trees, and sloths can be seen resting on branches. Colorful birds, including toucans and parrots are plentiful. Along the trails, iguanas, butterflies and snakes, some extremely venomous, add to the experience.

Additionally, the beaches are some of the best in the country. Playa Manuel Antonio, with its soft sand and clear water, is perfect for relaxing. Playa Espadilla, adjacent to the park entrance, offers a nice place to cool down.

Besides hiking and wildlife spotting, visitors can enjoy other activities. Snorkeling near the coral reefs reveals colorful fish and marine life. Kayaking along the coast provides breathtaking ocean views. Watching the sunset over the Pacific is a perfect way to end the day.

Quepos Weather

The weather in Quepos, Costa Rica is divided into two season, green (rainy season) and summer (dry season).

The majority of the rain falls between May and November.  Nearly everyday during this time will see some rain, usually in the afternoons between May and July.  However, once August rolls around, all day rains are common until the middle of November.

October is by far the rainiest month for any community on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, including Quepos.

December through April has the driest weather with very little, if any rain.  January and February has the least amount of rain but still remains somewhat humid.

The most uncomfortable month in terms of temperature plus humidity is April.  The temperatures are high, the winds are calm and the heavy rains have not started and therefore provide no cooling relief from the heat.
