About Aliso Beach

Aliso Beach is a beautiful and uncrowded destination in Laguna Beach, California. Located along the Pacific Coast, it is known for its soft sand and scenic views. Visitors come to relax, swim, and enjoy outdoor activities away from the crowds.

The beach features fine, golden sand. The shoreline stretches wide, providing plenty of space for sunbathing and picnicking. Large rocks and tide pools add to the natural beauty.

The waves at Aliso Beach vary throughout the year. During summer, the water is usually calm, making it great for swimming. On some days, small waves create fun conditions for bodyboarding. In winter, waves can be larger, attracting skilled surfers.

For swimmers, ocean temperatures change with the seasons. In summer, the water stays between 65°F and 72°F (18°C to 22°C). During winter, it drops to around 55°F to 60°F (13°C to 16°C). A wetsuit is recommended for cooler months.

Water conditions can vary and there are times when the ocean can become unsafe, even in normally calm areas.  It is important to always check the local conditions before heading out.

Aliso Beach has excellent amenities that include public restrooms, picnic tables, and fire pits. A large parking lot provides easy access to the shoreline. Lifeguards are on duty, ensuring safety for swimmers and surfers.

Laguna Beach Weather

Laguna Beach and most of Southern California’s beach communities have some of the best weather in the world.  Temperatures remain mild throughout the winter and summer.

Most rain falls between December and April.  May and June are often very cloudy and cool as the marine layer covers the beach communities.  This is caused by the deserts warming up and pulling the clouds and fog over the coast.  There can be weeks without seeing any sun at all during this time of the year.  Often these two months are referred to as “May gray” and “June gloom”.

Summertime high temperatures are generally in the 70s and 80s with night time lows in the 60s.  Winter cools off with highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the 50s during the night.  Rarely does the temperature exceed 90 degrees or fall into the 30s at night.

Occasionally a weather phenomena called a “Santa Ana” will drive temperatures near 100 degrees and are often accompanied by very high, near hurricane force, winds.

This area is not prone to high winds except when a large, strong storm moves through or a Santa Ana weather event happens.

Occasionally a tropical storm or hurricane will influence the weather but it is very rare to experience a direct hit in this area.
