About St Maarten
St Maarten is a beautiful island in the Caribbean that offers a unique blend of Dutch and French culture. The island has stunning beaches, outdoor adventures, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Located in the northeast Caribbean Sea, about 190 miles east of Puerto Rico, it is the perfect destination for travelers who want warm weather tropical vacations and relaxation and excitement. The island is situated at the northern end of the Lesser Antilles. Nearby neighbors are Anguilla, St Barthelemy, and Saba.
One of the main attractions of St Maarten is its stunning beaches. Each beach has its own unique character and atmosphere. The most popular beach is Maho Beach, famous for its close proximity to the airport runway. In addition, Orient Bay, is known for its wide stretch of soft white sand and turquoise waters.
St Maarten has a tropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year. Daytime highs are always in the 80s and lows in the 70s. Ocean water temperatures are in the 80s during the entire year. The most popular months for tourism are from December to April. During this time the weather is dry and sunny. The off-season, from May to November, has lower prices and fewer crowds. However, visitors need to be aware of hurricanes during this time. St Maarten’s location is right in the middle of the hurricane highway. As a result, it is often impacted by strong storms.
